Azygograptus ellesi was named by Monsen (1937) [= 1898 Azygograptus suecicus Moberg; Elles p. 514, fig. 29.

= 1937 Azygograptus cf. suecicus Moberg; Monsen, p. 204, pi. 5, figs 2 and 20.
= 1973 Azygograptus suecicus Moberg; Boucek, p. 107, pi. 19, figs 1^4; text-fig. 33 a-g.]. Its type specimen is PMO K 0288 and is a 3D body fossil.
