Polyedra was named by Termier and Termier (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: P u Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 941,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Polyedra tebagensis. It is the type genus of Polyedridae.
It was assigned to Calcarea by Sepkoski (2002); to Girtyocoeliidae by Finks et al. (2004); and to Polyedridae by Senowbari-Daryan and Rigby (2015).
