Taxonomy
Saurichnites leisnerianus was named by Geintiz (1863). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Rathen, Radkow tracksite, which is in an Artinskian/Capitanian terrestrial horizon in Poland.

It was recombined as Dimetropus leisnerianus by Geinitz (1863) and Haubold (1971).
