Taxonomy
Leptaena estonensis was named by Bekker (1921). It is the type species of Estonomena.

It was recombined as Estomena estonensis by Rõõmusoks (1989); it was recombined as Kiaeromena (Kiaeromena) estonensis by Cocks and Rong (2000); it was recombined as Estonomena estonensis by Roomusoks (2004); it was recombined as Kiaeromena estonensis by Congreve et al. (2019).
