Tarchia teresae

Reptilia - Ankylosauridae

Taxonomy
Tarchia teresae was named by Penkalski and Tumanova (2017) [Differs from T. kielanae in the lack of fusion of the accessory osteoderm to the skull roof; quadrate and paroccipital process unfused; postfrontal skull roof deeply sculptured; large, bifurcated opening for cnn. IXeXII. Further differs from S. chulsanensis in having shorter and narrower, more divergent squamosal horns encircled by a prominent basal sulcus and which possibly underwent ontogenetic remodeling; also differs from S. chulsanensis in having a rostral indentation (neck) of the quadratojugal horn.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is PIN 3142/250, a skeleton (a skull, mandibles, and postcranial material). Its type locality is Khermin Tsav, Upper White Beds [SMPE] (PIN coll. 3142), which is in a Maastrichtian eolian horizon in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.
