Taxonomy
Alonchoptera lebanica was named by Grimaldi (2018). Its type specimen is AMNH LAEIII-4, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Bchare Mountain (AMNH collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon. It is the type species of Alonchoptera.
