Virgatosphinctes sanchezi
Taxonomy
Virgatosphinctes sanchezi was named by Verma and Westermann (1973). Its type specimen is McM J 1528/2, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 40C (McM-J1528), El Pastor, Sierra Catorce, which is in a Tithonian carbonate limestone in the La Caja Formation of Mexico.
