Thanos simonattoi

Thanos simonattoi was named by Delcourt and Iori (2020) [Abelisaurid theropod characterized by the following unique combination of characters: (1) well-developed keel on the ventral surface becoming wider and deeper posteriorly; (2) lateral small foramina separated by a relative wide wall and (3) well-developed and deep prezygapophyseal spinodiapophyseal fossae.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is MPMA 08–0016/95, a set of vertebrae (An almost complete axis fused with an axial intercentrum). Its type locality is North of Ibirá (near the farm of Sérgio Luis Simonatto), which is in a Santonian/Campanian fluvial sandstone in the São José do Rio Preto Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Thanos.
