Taxonomy
Ammonites herbichi was named by Hauer (1866). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ciofronca (Herbich collection), which is in a Kimmeridgian carbonate limestone in Romania.

It was recombined as Simoceras herbichi by Preda (1973); it was recombined as Presimoceras herbichi by Grigore (2010).
