Taxonomy
Cosmoceras nitidulum was named by Neumayr (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ghilcoş outcrop (GBA collection), which is in a Kimmeridgian marine sandstone in Romania.
It was recombined as Simocosmoceras nitidulum by Grigore and Marcu (2009) and Grigore (2013).
