Taxonomy
Perisphinctes hospes was named by Neumayr (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ciofronca (GBA collection), which is in a Kimmeridgian carbonate limestone in Romania.

It was recombined as Nebrodites hospes by Howarth (1998) and Grigore (2010).
