Ammonites gaudama was named by Forbes (1846). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Puzosia gaudama by Kossmat (1898); it was recombined as Desmophyllites gaudama by Benavides-Caceres (1956); it was recombined as Mesopuzosia gaudama by Kennedy (2018).
