Taxonomy

Arca osmonti was named by Dall (1909).

It was recombined as Anadara (Anadara) osmonti by Reinhart (1943) and Moore (1983); it was recombined as Anadara osmonti by Durham (1944) and Hendy (2020).

Synonyms

Arca impavida was named by Wiedey (1928). Its type specimen is Leland Stanford Junior University 436, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LSJU loc. 2641 - Barker's Ranch [Round Mountain Silt], which is in a Langhian marine siltstone in the Round Mountain Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Anadara (Anadara) osmonti by Reinhart (1943).
Arca barkeriana was named by Clark (1918). It is extant.
