Taxonomy
Malletia chehalisensis was named by Arnold (1908). Its type specimen is USNM 165447, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Yoldia chehalisensis by Durham (1944); it was synonymized subjectively with Portlandia (Portlandella) reagani by Moore (1963); it was recombined as Portlandia (Portlandia) chehalisensis by Moore (1983) and Moore (1984); it was recombined as Portlandia chehalisensis by Hendy (2020).
