Taxonomy
Changjiangosaurus was named by Hou (1976). Its type is Changjiangosaurus huananensis. It is the type genus of Changjiangidae.
It was assigned to Changjiangidae by Hou (1976); to Lacertilia by Estes (1983); to Lacertilia by Carroll (1988); to Changjiangosauridae by Alifanov (2009); and to Squamata by Dong et al. (2016).
