Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
M. Valent et al. 2017Hyolithid with platyclaviculate operculum. Clavicles divided by longitudinal walls into channels opened at their distal ends. Cardinal processes short; cardinal shield narrow (exsagitally) and steeply slope to the conical shield. Central processes form a small projection (corrugum) corrugated in the type genus. Conical shield usually with radial ribs or growth-lines. Aperture amblygonal (aperture with dorsal apertural margin usually behind apertural sinuses making the obtuse apertural angle—see Marek 1967, p. 59) or orthogonal (aperture where the dorsal apertural margin lies roughly above the apertural sinuses); cyrtoconic (curved, tapering conical conch) conch dorsally concave, dorsal side is regularly arched without any keel, lateral edges rounded or sharp. Surface sculpture of conch consists of transverse ornament (e.g., growth lines, ribs, rugae).
