Paosia californica

Taxonomy
Acteonina californica was named by Gabb (1864). Its type specimen is CAS 31918 (neotype) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 31918, Thompson Creek, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Yolo Formation of California.

It was recombined as Trajanella californica by Murphy and Rodda (1960); it was recombined as Oonia californica by Jones et al. (1978); it was recombined as Paosia californica by Squires and Saul (2004) and Haggart et al. (2005).

R. L. Squires and L. R. Saul 2004dium Paosia, both juveniles and adult relative­ ly elongate with high spire and moderately convex cylindrical last whorl; some specimens with portions of shell covered by very fine spiral grooves and some adults with last whorl nearly parallel sided.
