Neverita globosa was named by Gabb (1868) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10129].

It was recombined as Neverita (Glossaulax) globosa by Givens and Kennedy (1976); it was recombined as Neverita (Neverita) globosa by Squires (1984) and Squires (1987).
