Taxonomy
Morio (Sconsia) tuberculatus was named by Gabb (1864) [ANSP 4343 lectotype designated by Stewart 1927]. Its type specimen is ANSP 4343 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Morio tuberculatus by Weaver (1912); it was recombined as Cassidaria tuberculata by Dickerson (1914); it was recombined as Coalingodea tuberculiformis by Durham (1942); it was recombined as Phalium (Semicassis) tuberculiformis by Givens and Kennedy (1979), Squires (1984), Squires (1987) and Squires (1999); it was misspelled as Galeodea tuberculata by Weaver and Palmer (1922); it was recombined as Galeodea tuberculiformis by Hanna (1924), Stewart (1927) and Squires (2019).
