Taxonomy

Kansajsuchus was named by Efimov (1975). Its type is Kansajsuchus extensus.

It was assigned to Goniopholidae by Storrs and Efimov (2000) and Halliday et al. (2015); and to Paralligatoridae by Kuzmin et al. (2019).

Synonyms

Turanosuchus was named by Efimov (1988). Its type is Turanosuchus aralensis.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Halliday et al. (2015); it was synonymized subjectively with Kansajsuchus by Kuzmin et al. (2019).

It was assigned to Goniopholidae by Storrs and Efimov (2000).
Turanosuchus aralensis was named by Efimov (1988). Its type specimen is PIN 2229/507, a mandible (Mandibular symphysis), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shakh-Shakh (lower), which is in a Santonian/Campanian fluvial-lacustrine claystone/sandstone in the Bostobe Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Turanosuchus.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Halliday et al. (2015) and Kuzmin et al. (2019).
