Nuculana gabbii

Taxonomy

Nuculana gabbii was named by Conrad (1866).

It was recombined as Leda gabbi by Gabb (1869), Stanton (1896), Waring (1917) and Nelson (1925); it was recombined as Saccella gabbii by Stewart (1930); it was misspelled as Nuculana gabbi by Turner (1938); it was recombined as Nuculana (Saccella) gabbii by Moore (1983), Squires (1984) and Squires (1999).

Synonyms

Leda vaderensis was named by Dickerson (1915). Its type specimen is CAS 252 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 183, Big Bend of Cowlitz River, which is in a Bartonian marine mudstone/sandstone in the Cowlitz Formation of Washington.

It was synonymized subjectively with Saccella gabbii by Stewart (1930); it was synonymized subjectively with Nuculana (Saccella) gabbii by Squires (1984).
Leda vogdesi was named by Anderson and Hanna (1925). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 244, Live Oak Canyon, which is in an Eocene marginal marine sandstone/shale in the Tejon Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Saccella gabbii by Stewart (1930); it was synonymized subjectively with Nuculana (Saccella) gabbii by Squires (1984).
