Taxonomy
Euchemotrema occidaneum was named by Roth and Emberton (1994). Its type specimen is SBMNH 35643, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SBMNH Berry Loc. 1, which is in an Oligocene/Miocene terrestrial tuff in the Deep River Formation of Montana.
