It was assigned to Rhamphorhynchidae by Zittel (1890), Spangenberg (1898) and Carroll (1988); to Pterosauria by Sereno (1991); to Lonchognatha by Andres et al. (2014); and to Rhamphorhynchinae by Delsate and Wild (2000), Unwin (2003), Andres et al. (2010) and Lu et al. (2015).
