Taxonomy
Pleurotoma (Bathytoma) keepi was named by Arnold (1907). Its type specimen is USNM 164993, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pseudotoma keepi by Stewart (1946); it was recombined as Megasurcula keepi by Addicott (1970).
