Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. D. Cope 1869 (Goniopoda)Proximal tarsal bones distinct from tibia ; the latter closely embraced by the much enlarged astragalus, on its inferior and anterior faces, forming an immoveable articulation. Astragalus, with an extensive anterior articular condyle below, above in contact with the fibula, which is much reduced, especially distally. Anterior part of the ilium dilated, and plate-like.
K. A. v. Zittel 1890Zwischenkiefer bezahnt. Postpubis fehlt. Femur mit innerem Trochanter. Astragalus in der Regel mit aufsteigendem Fortsatz.
R. S. Lull 1924Bipedal dinosaurs, with bird-like raptorial feet, the clawed fore limbs becoming proportionately smaller as their evolution progressed; teeth laterally compressed, often serrate; pubis having foot-like expansion at symphysis in forms above the Trias, those without it being included in Huene's Pachypodosauria.
S. J. Nesbitt 2011The most inclusive clade containing Passer domesticus Linnaeus, 1758, but not Saltasaurus loricatus Bonaparte and Powell, 1980
