Etheridgia was named by Tate (1865) [Sepkoski's age data: K Sant K Sn Sepkoski's reference number: 622]. It is not extant. Its type is Etheridgia mirabilis.
It was assigned to Hexactinosa by Sepkoski (2002); to Lychniscosa by Mermighis and Marcopoulou-Diacantoni (2004); and to Cameroptychinae by Finks et al. (2004).
