Taxonomy
Dictyophyllum was named by Lindley and Hutton (1834). It is not extant. Its type is Dictyophyllum rugosum.

It was assigned to Dipteridinae by Knowlton (1919); to Polypodiopsida by Nielsen (2005); and to Dipteridaceae by Andrews (1970), Kimura and Kim (1988) and Moisan et al. (2010).
