Nucula excavata

Taxonomy
Nucula excavata was named by Goldfuss (1837). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mt. Haunsberg, which is in a Paleocene coastal sandstone/marl in the Oiching Formation of Austria.

It was recombined as Leda excavata by Frech (1912); it was recombined as Nuculana excavata by Xu (1978).
