Taxonomy
Counillonia superoculis was named by Olivier et al. (2019). It is not extant. Its type specimen is LPB 1993-3, a skull. Its type locality is Counillonia and Repelinosaurus Type Locality, which is in a Triassic floodplain claystone in the Purple Claystone Formation of Laos. It is the type species of Counillonia.
