Taxonomy
Oceanotitan dantasi was named by Mocho et al. (2019). Its type specimen is SHN 181, a partial skeleton (Caudal vertebrae and appendicular remains), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is cliffs north of Praia de Valmitão, which is in a Kimmeridgian fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Praia da Amoreira-Porto Novo Formation of Portugal.
