Rotadiscus was named by Sun and Hou (1987) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-u Cm mMid-l Sepkoski's reference number: 779,1006]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Rotadiscidae.
It was assigned to Siphonophorida by Sepkoski (2002); to Eldoniidae by Caron et al. (2010); and to Rotadiscidae by Schroeder et al. (2018).
