Glyptoactis (Claibornicardia) sandiegoensis
Taxonomy
Cardita sandiegoensis was named by Hanna (1927). Its type specimen is UCMP 30980 - 30983 (syntypes) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCR loc. 4922, which is in a Lutetian deep subtidal shelf shale in the Ardath Formation of California.
It was recombined as Venericardia sandiegoensis by Stewart (1946); it was recombined as Glyptoactis (Claibornicardia) sandiegoensis by Givens and Kennedy (1979), Squires (1987), Moore (1992) and Hendy (2020).
