Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
B. R. Benefit 2008 | Moderately large victoriapithecid with low occlusal cusp relief, a high degree of buccal crown flare, and close proximity of molar cusp tips. It is distinguished from Prohylobates and Victoriapithecus by the presence of bifurcate mesial and distal M2 roots, bifurcate mesial M3 roots, slightly wider than long and quadrate M2 shape, and a taller metaconid height relative to crown length. It is distinguished from Prohylobates tandyi by its large M3 that is only slightly bigger than M2 and large M3 hypoconulid, and from Victoriapithecus by its longer mesial shelves. | |
E. R. Miller et al. 2009 | Differs from other victoriapithecids in having a mandible and teeth of much larger size; m2 broader than long; m2 with two independent distal roots; m3 with a bifurcated mesial root. |
