Taxonomy
Hirmeriella was named by Hörhammer (1933). It is not extant. Its type is Hirmeriella rhatoliassica.

It was assigned to Coniferales by Andrews (1970); and to Cheirolepidiaceae by Barbacka et al. (2007).
