Rhadalinae was named by LeConte (1861). It is extant.

It was reranked as the family Rhadalidae by Gimmel et al. (2019) and Cai et al. (2022).

It was assigned to Melyridae by Bouchard et al. (2011); to Dasytidae by Majer (1998) and Tshernyshev (2019); and to Cleroidea by Gimmel et al. (2019) and Cai et al. (2022).
