Taxonomy
Albanites americanus was named by Brayard et al. (2019). Its type specimen is UBGD 30535, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Paris Canyon (Paris Biota), which is in a Spathian transition zone/lower shoreface mudstone/marl in Idaho.
