Taxonomy
Centrosaurus was named by Lambe (1905). It is the type genus of Centrosaurinae, Centrosaurini.
It was synonymized subjectively with Monoclonius by Lull (1924), Romer (1956), Tatarinov (1964) and Kuhn (1964); it was replaced with Eucentrosaurus by Chure and McIntosh (1989) and Olshevsky and Ford (1994).
