Ustatochoerus medius mohavensis

Taxonomy
Ustatochoerus medius mohavensis was named by Schultz and Falkenbach (1941) [named as subspecies of Ustatochoerus medius by Schultz andFalkenbach 1941; raised to species level; referral to Mediochoerus follows discussion of Skinner and Johnson 1984, p. 259; name also used by Kelly and Lander 1988, Lander 1998]. Its type specimen is F:AM 34464 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Mediochoerus mohavensis by Tedford et al. (1987), Stevens and Stevens (2007) and Stevens et al. (2023).

M. S. Stevens et al. 2023Largest species of Mediochoerus, with the M1-3 length is 70.5 mm, and its P2-M3 length is 110 mm. Slightly larger than M. blicki, with a stronger coalescence of the premaxilla ventral to the narial notch, and its slightly more molarized premolars.
