It was recombined as Lamna subulata by Agassiz (1843), Agassiz (1843) and Hay (1902); it was recombined as Scapanorhynchus subulatus by Woodward (1889) and Chapman (1918); it was recombined as Odontaspis subulata by Dalinkevičius (1935); it was recombined as Eostriatolamia subulata by Müller and Diedrich (1991), Guinot et al. (2013) and Sokolskyi and Guinot (2021).
