Taxonomy

Uralokannemeyeria was named by Danilov (1971).

It was assigned to Kannemeyeriidae by Carroll (1988); to Sinokannemeyeriini by King (1988) and Battail and Surkov (2000); and to Sinokannemeyeriinae by Ivakhnenko (2008).

Synonyms

Edaxosaurus was named by Kalandadze [Names by Kalandadze in Kalandadze & Sennikov 1985.]. Its type is Edaxosaurus edentatus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Uralokannemeyeria by Kammerer et al. (2013).

It was assigned to Placeriini by Battail and Surkov (2000); and to Placeriinae by Kalandadze and Sennikov (1985) and Ivakhnenko (2008).

Diagnosis

Reference	Diagnosis
N. N. Kalandadze and A. G. Sennikov 1985 (Edaxosaurus)	Fangs absent. Maxillary flank in the form of a high three-sided pyramid bent slightly backward and downward. Bony thickenings of posterolateral margins of maxilla weakly developed, upper edge of bone passes into rostrum on premaxillary bone.
