Rhachiocephalus was named by Seeley (1898). It is not extant. Its type is Trochosuchus acutus.
It was assigned to Pelorocyclopini by King (1988); to Oudenodontidae by Carroll (1988); and to Rhachiocephalidae by Kammerer and Angielczyk (2009).
