It was assigned to Therocephalia by Haughton and Brink (1954) and Kemp (1982); to Therocephalia by Kuhn (1946) and Carroll (1988); to Eutherocephalia by Battail and Surkov (2000); and to Whaitsioidea by Tatarinov (2008) and Huttenlocker and Smith (2017).
