Taxonomy

Moschowhaitsia was named by Tatarinov (1963). It is not extant.

It was assigned to Moschowhaitsiinae by Battail and Surkov (2000); to Moschowhaitsiidae by Tatarinov (2008) and Ivakhnenko (2011); and to Whaitsiidae by Carroll (1988) and Huttenlocker and Smith (2017).

Synonyms

Hexacynodon was named by Tatarinov (1963). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Moschowhaitsia by Ivakhnenko (2011).

It was assigned to Scylacosauridae by Battail and Surkov (2000); and to Nanictidopidae by Tatarinov (2008).
