Rhinodipterus kimberleyensis
Taxonomy
Rhinodipterus kimberleyensis was named by Clement (2012) [Rhinodipterus sp. with parasphenoid stalk strongly waisted; pterygoid tooth plates with seven tooth rows; prearticular tooth plates with six tooth rows; few or no lateral line pores on J bone; symphysis length 50 per cent of total mandible length; ceratohyal with pronounced lateral crest and distinct ventral notch; pectoral girdle with horizontal dorsal edge.]. Its type specimen is WAM 09.6.149, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rhinodipterus kimberleyensis-type locality, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm horizon in the Gogo Formation of Australia.
