Dromatherium
Taxonomy
Dromatherium was named by Emmons (1857). Its type is Dromatherium sylvestre. It is the type genus of Dromatheriidae.
It was assigned to Dromatheriidae by Lydekker (1894), Hay (1902) and Hay (1930); to Mammalia by Emmons (1857), Owen (1859), Osborn (1886) and Huene (1940); to Cynodontia by Hopson and Kitching (1972); and to Chiniquodontidae by Carroll (1988).
