Taxonomy
Dendraster (Calaster) oregonensis major was named by Kew (1920). Its type specimen is UCMP 11044 and 11352 (cotypes) and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Anorthoscutum oregonensis major by Grant and Hertlein (1938).
