Taxonomy
Euphorioxylon deccanense was named by Mehrotra (1987). Its type specimen is BSIP 35895, a wood, and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Madwani, which is in a Paleogene fluvial horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.
