Taxonomy
Lanneoxylon grandiosum was named by Prakash and Tripathi (1967). Its type specimen is BSIP 39100, a wood (wood), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Milestone 9 Road Cutting, Dimapur-Diphu Road, which is in a Miocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in India.
