Taxonomy
Camptonectes mundus was named by Melville (1956). It is not extant. Its type specimen is GSM 28760. Its type locality is Stowell Park borehole (A. margaritatus Zone, 729-844ft), which is in a Pliensbachian marine sandstone/shale in the Middle Lias Formation of the United Kingdom.
