Taxonomy
Phyllocoenia subincrassata was named by Krumbeck (1913). It is not extant. Its type locality is Wamkaha, western Buru Island, which is in a Lacian marine marl/limestone in the Fogi Formation of Indonesia.

It was recombined as Palaeastraea subincrassata by Riedel (1991).
